Festool parallel guide12/7/2023 Probably have done a few dozen rips with both. I'm a hobbyist and used both during my kitchen cabinet project. Granted, some of these differences are pretty minor, but that's how it fell out for me. Not a problem if I left the Seneca assembled. I think it was due to the fact that the Festool were always calibrated, while I would break down the Seneca and have to recalibrate each time. The side fences are mounted on the guide rail for this purpose, and the required dimension is set via the adjustable stops. There was one time after I sold the Festool guides that I missed them. I am impressed, was very easy to install and calibrate on my GRS-16 guide rail square. Also nice to be able to use longer t-track for wider rips, or shorter to keep things easier to moveĬost - I think I came out about $100 ahead after selling my Festool guidesĬonvenience - the Seneca are smaller, lighter, and disassemble more easily I purchased the TPG-20 & TPG-30 Parallel Guide System (Right Hand) set and used them for the first time a few days ago to cut some plywood. I owned the Seneca for a while before switching to the TSO parallel guides. The Seneca and Precision Dogs are a nice step up but still a bit fussy. The Festool ones are clunky because of the way they hang off the material. Great if you're ripping pieces that are different lengths.
